The Fox Theatre Walsenburg’s Comedy Club on Thursday, March 29, brought stand-up comedy to Huerfano County with hysterical success! Featuring the comic stylings of Jacob Erdman, Kyle Pogue, and David Rodriguez, the event was lit with spotlights and laughter livening up the quiet downtown.

A crowd of around 70 enjoyed a raucous evening, with drinks, snacks, and table service provided by Fox Theatre’s volunteers. By shows end patrons of the front row loudly demanded an encore from David “One More Good One!”.

Starting off the show was Jacob Erdman, a Colorado comedian who’s been booking and running shows in and around Fort Collins for the past three years.
Erdman’s self-deprecating humor, familiarity with semen, and comical sexual frustrations resonated with the audience. Erdman is originally from Wisconsin.

Kyle Pogue of Denver pushed aside his demons to humorously describe coming to grips with alcoholism after an unfulfilling 30 days of sobriety. Pogue drank a beer telling jokes while asking the unsuspecting audience poignant questions on a desperate hunt for cocaine.
An import from Illinois, Pogue described recently experimenting with cannabis for the first time since legalization and his unexpected results.

David Rodriguez of Denver was all smiles as he recounted the pitfalls of fatherhood and committed relationships. A recently married father of two, Rodriguez was the winner of the 2015 Comedy Works New Faces Competition, as well as the 2016 Denver Improv Stand-Up Showdown, and the 2017 Funny Final Four competition. David casually reminded us small town folks can’t use online dating, highlighted the finer points of Colorado’s smaller mountain communities, and recounted an unforgettable experience of a beautiful person suffering in Las Vegas.
