New Doctor at Mt. San Rafael Hospital and Clinics

MT. SAN RAFAEL HOSPITAL AND CLINICS WELCOMES JAMES BOWIE, MD

(TRINIDAD, CO) –– Mt. San Rafael Hospital and Clinics is pleased to welcome James Bowie, MD, as a new family medicine primary care provider serving the Hospital’s Rural Health Clinic.  Dr. Bowie will also serve as a hospitalist on a rotating basis for inpatients at the hospital.

Dr. Bowie comes to us most recently from Fort Logan Mental Health Institute in Denver, Colorado, where he served as an overnight doctor. He also previously served as a locums tenens physician for Docs Who Care at critical access hospitals throughout rural Colorado. Dr. Bowie’s educational and personal medical emphasis is in rural healthcare.

Dr. James Bowie

Dr. Bowie received his bachelor’s degree in health and exercise science from Colorado State University in Fort Collins. He received his master’s degree in sport and exercise science from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. He also completed a post-baccalaureate pre-med program at Colorado State University-Pueblo. He received his medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Aurora. Dr. Bowie completed his family medicine internship and residency at St. Anthony North in Westminster, Colorado. Dr. Bowie is board certified in family medicine. 

Dr. Bowie grew up in Trinidad and is excited to return home. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Bowie back to Trinidad and to our team of providers at Mt. San Rafael Hospital and Clinics.
