Trinidad Library is now fully open!

Recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic

The library is now open during regular business hours of 9 to 5 on weekdays, 10 to 4 on Saturdays, and closed on Sundays and holidays.

  • We have opened one restroom. Ask for the key at the front desk.
  • You are not allowed to bring food or drink into the library. However, the water fountains are now available. They are downstairs near the northeast corner of the building.
  • Community Room: The heavy rains this summer partially flooded the Community Room. We are currently in the process of a long-term project to repair water damage, replace the floor, remove carpet and replace it with vinyl tile, and to take measures to prevent any future flooding. Unfortunately, this will probably take many months to complete. We must postpone events and programs that normally happened in the Community Room. In our Tech Room we can accommodate smaller meetings of four people or less.
  • We don’t require masks, but highly encourage them. Masking requirements and other preventative procedures may change abruptly in the future based on advice from the Las Animas County Health Department.
  • We are no longer quarantining books and DVDs. You can leave them at the front desk and we will check them in immediately. You can also return checked-out items to the drop box at the front of the building. As always, the only time we levy a fine on your account is if you have lost or damaged something you checked out. If you need to renew an item, you can call us during business hours, or renew online at https://carnegie.catalog.aspencat.info/?browseCategory=ccclibrary_new_books
  • Two desktop computers are available for walk-in patrons for one hour sessions. Please check in at the front desk.
  • If you need help with computers, phones or tablets, call or come in to make an appointment for a one-hour session.
  • Curbside service is always available. Just call us at 719-846-6841 or email us at trinidadpubliclibrary@gmail.com. We’ll meet you out in front of the library!Trinidad Carnegie Public LibraryNewsletterFebruary and March2022carnegiepubliclibrary.org202 North Animas Street, Trinidad CO 81082719-846-6841
